CA Retake - Analysing Spoken Language



Task:

You will complete one task from the two below:

EITHER

Using two examples of spoken language, comment on the way people use language for different purposes.

You should comment on:
• how the purpose of the spoken language affects the way it is used
• how the audience affects the language that is used
• how formal or informal the language is
• how the language used influences other speakers and listeners.
 
OR
 
Using two examples of spoken language, comment on how language is used in different places.

You should comment on:
• how the purpose of the spoken language affects the way it is used
• how the audience affects the language that is used
• how formal or informal the language is
• how the language used influences other speakers and listeners
• the use of dialect, if appropriate.

    For example:
    1. A speech and a radio interview
    2. A speech and a normal conversation
    3. A speech and a normal conversation

    Make sure you discuss the language features used.

    Make sure you compare the different uses of spoken language you notice.
